Then this episode is for you!

1-Reset your mindset
2-Determine what’s next
3-Craft your career hypotheses
4-Refresh your professional brand

So now that you have a basic roadmap, let’s dig into the nitty-gritty of how this will look in your career journey!

[2:31] Reflect on your current job: Questions to help you work through how you feel
[5:25] Step 1. Your mindset is the biggest piece of the puzzle when making a change
[7:59] Step 2. Take inventory—what makes you—YOU?
[9:50] The four pillars of career fulfillment
[16:18] Step 3. No more contorting yourself to fit into a job description! Set H.E.A.R.T. based goals
[19:27] You have an idea of what’s next? Time to test the waters through experience, exposure, and education
[22:50] An example of career hypotheses and development plan
[27:57] Step 4. Now it’s time to refresh your resume, your LinkedIn profile, and your conversations

Action Steps to apply to YOUR journey:

Step 1 – Reset your mindset

Create habits that are going to lead you to have that growth mindset.

Some examples might be:

-Get outside every morning
-Listen to music or podcast
-Journal

Set aside dedicated time for your job search. This could be 15 to 20 to 30 minutes, every other day – do not search for jobs all.day.long. That is not healthy!

Step 2 – Determine what’s next

Experience career fulfillment! We like to start with the foundation and then add the four pillars:

Foundation – Know your core values
Pillar 1 – Your strengths and gifts
Pillar 2 – Your magnetic interest
Pillar 3 – Your personality
Pillar 4 – Your lifestyle needs

Step 3 – Craft your career hypotheses

Take all of this information after your deep dive into what makes you you, and map that to a new path:

-Think about roles that are related to your strengths that you actually enjoy
-Then think about using those roles in an industry that’s related to your interests
-Lastly, identify the company and the team that’s going to be a really good fit for you.

Step 4 – Refresh your professional brand

Now it’s time to refresh your brand:

Your resume. This should be a balance of where you’ve been, as well as where you want to go (more details on how to do this in this podcast episode: Professional Branding in a Career Change
Your LinkedIn profile. Craft a content strategy to elevate your brand, and let people know who you are and what you stand for.
Your conversations. Practice talking about who you are, what you do, and what you’re looking for.
