  1. Check your security and privacy settings

Some people don’t want to broadcast when they update their profile and some people do, it’s totally up to you. Adjust those to your comfort level.

  1. Location and industry

Make sure your industry and location are up to date. And don’t forget to turn the setting on in the back end that tells recruiters you’re open to work!

  1. Include a photo

Profiles with a photo will get 21 times more views

  1. Your work history

List your current position as well as your last two positions.

  1. Education

This is a great way to network and connect with people who went to your school that might work at a company you’re interested in.

  1. The skill section

Your top three skills are keyword searchable, so you want to make sure you’re showcasing at least three.

Bonus Tip: 50 connections will help you optimize your profile. So you definitely want to get out there and connect with folks either future colleagues, former colleagues, current colleagues, friends, family, get out there and connect with folks when you get your profile updated.
