How To Find a Place to Flourish Again ❀

What marks the beginning of summer for you?

For me, it’s the reappearance of the dandelions. The other day, while taking my morning soul stroll with Tula, we came across a field of dandelions…

I called it a “field of wishes” because that’s what dandelions make me think of.

Most of us—as children and sometimes as adults—have clasped the thin stem of a dandelion in our hands, blown gently upon the silky fluff, and made a wish. We marveled as those seeds attached to the fluff drifted away on the breeze to new places.

Places where they—in time—would flourish again.

From the dandelions we can learn that falling apart is a wish—an opportunity—to begin again. Isn’t it amazing that anyone can ever look at dandelions and see weeds?

Career Talk

Summer Assignment

I like to do a reflection exercise every season, but I find it particularly helpful in the summer when the days are long and we all move a little more leisurely.

This is a good time to get out your journal and reflect on your HEART-based career goals, specifically, what is and isn’t working. Ask yourself:

  • What energized me and WHY?
  • What drained me and WHY?
  • What can I do to change what’s NOT energizing me into something that IS?

Nourish to Flourish

Refreshing words:

“An early-morning walk is a blessing for the whole day.” —Henry David Thoreau

My morning routine changes with the seasons. In the summertime, I wake up a little after 5 a.m. and begin by setting an intention for how I want the day to go.

A good morning routine can mean the difference between a good day and a great day, it’s also an essential element of my Nourish to Flourish philosophy.
