Every spring, I get restless.
Like something in me knows it’s time to move, even before my brain catches up.
It shows up differently each year. Opening the windows. A sudden urge to rearrange furniture. Putting away the winter coats. Whatever it is, I’ve learned to follow it—because that restlessness is usually preparing me for something.
I really believe that when you start clearing and shifting—even in small ways—you’re making room for what’s next.
In fact, I remember that when I was preparing to leave corporate, I moved all my “work” clothes into a separate closet. Not because they didn’t physically fit, but because they didn’t energetically fit anymore. Something in me was already letting go and making space for a version of myself that hadn’t fully arrived yet. My intuition knew what my logical mind didn’t.
I’m seeing this pattern with Flourish Careers clients, too.
Recently, a dear client booked a 30-minute Career Talk to discuss her job search strategy—feeling a little lost about where to start. Together, we crafted a plan, and just 1.5 weeks later, one of her top companies called her for an interview.
Before that, a long-time community member felt the nudge to update his resume. A few weeks later, his company restructured and laid him off, but, unknowingly, he had already begun preparing.
In both cases, something prompted them to act before they even knew why.
All this to say: We do things without realizing we’re preparing for a fresh start. Change isn’t forced; it’s nurtured—naturally and often before we realize we’re doing it.
Decluttering, journaling, updating your resume, opening this email—it’s all prep for what’s next.
If you’ve been feeling that restlessness lately, pay attention to it.
It’s momentum. And your next opportunity is closer than you think.
Spring has always been my favorite reminder that beginnings don’t need to be forced; they unfold naturally.
New buds appear on the trees. Daffodils burst through the earth. Robins return. Longer days and warmer temps.
This March, notice where the energy is moving in your life. Stay open to possibilities, follow your curiosity, and trust the timing of what’s unfolding.
Fresh Starts are In Season.

If something in you feels ready—this is how we begin.
In Season isn’t just another pretty planner. Every practice inside it is backed by real science—and this week on the blog, I’m breaking down exactly why it works.
Worth a read.
+ Loving: These candles for morning rituals. They’re a splurge, but so worth it
+ Listening: This heart-opening meditation on clearing out the old and awakening the heart. It’s soooooo good!
Fresh starts rarely arrive as dramatic moments. Choose one tiny action each week that moves you toward something your heart has been calling for. It doesn’t need to be big. It just needs to be honest.
A first step might look like:
+ Revisiting an idea you tucked away
+ Saying yes to learning something new
+ Refreshing a section of your LinkedIn profile
+ Giving yourself permission to explore
Spring reminds us that growth starts beneath the surface, long before we see the first bloom.
Your fresh start is already unfolding; you just have to take the first step.
