It’s that time of year again—the time of year when I feel most aligned with nature.
You see, as the trees let go of their leaves, I, too, feel drawn to shedding what no longer serves me. It’s the best way to make space for the new.
Sometimes, this annual shedding simply means letting go of old documents and deleting emails, but other times, it is releasing old mindsets, habits, and behaviors.
At the most transformative times, I let go of old identities and versions of myself. (👈 That one is really hard!)
I remember the first time I said I was a career coach out loud—it felt so weird. The term “coach” has so many connotations now. I thought, Will anyone take me seriously?
But I leaned into my intuition that this was the path I was meant to take.
I trusted the universe would have my back.
And, luckily, it did.
Now, I get to see the impact of my work on others. It would never have been possible if I hadn’t let go of so many little and big things all along the way.
To begin your own HEART-based career path, try letting go.
Trusting the universe and surrendering doesn’t mean a life of passivity. Rather, it’s about finding the perfect balance between action and openness. It’s trusting that the next right steps will be revealed to you at the exact right time.
On that note—I love this visual.
In it, you can see that both women are spending time outside, but only one of them has created space to enjoy it. The other is too busy thinking about all the things. By letting go, you can create the space you need to hear where your heart and spirit are guiding you to next.
What can you let go of today to start making space for the new?

I LOVE these squiggly career girls I’ve been following for a while. I just think they’re brilliant! This book is about ditching traditional career rules and embracing ownership for designing your career, and I can’t recommend it enough.

“5 HEART-based Career Lessons We Can Take From Gen Z”
This blog post was written because I just can’t help myself! I’m fascinated. I find myself talking to anyone who will listen about how work is changing (and the hand Gen Z has in this change). So, I did a little research on the topic… Let’s discuss it!
