It’s autumn, and the backyard is full of energy.
The squirrels are zipping around, stashing acorns for winter. The birds are busy too—some are already heading south for warmth and food, while others are just arriving from colder places up north.
Jeremy and I have been enjoying watching the birds. And it turns out, we’re not alone—birding has taken off in popularity in recent years!
What fascinates me most is the birds’ willingness to embrace change. They lift off toward new climates with no guarantee, trusting that, when they arrive, the resources they need will be there.
And that got me thinking…
Over the past few weeks, a new buzzword has emerged in HR circles: job hugging. Professionals are clinging tightly to their jobs—playing it safe, even when they’re unfulfilled. Analysts note that voluntary resignations have held steady at about 2% all year, a sharp contrast to the Great Resignation era.
The reasons are valid: the uncertain impact of AI, a shaky economy, and the fear of scarcity. But here’s the thing: Being abundant begins with feeling abundant.
Abundance is an inside job. It’s the unshakable belief that there are enough resources, enough opportunities, enough room for everyone to flourish.
When you live from that place:
+ You share your knowledge and skills freely.
+ You see others as collaborators, not competitors.
+ You seek out growth, even when it feels risky.
+ You learn, adapt, and expand.
In other words, you take a cue from the birds. You trust. You move forward. You flourish.
Because just like a flock taking flight, abundance isn’t meant to be hoarded—it’s meant to be lived and shared, together.
Commit to Doing These 3 Things Every Day This Week
1. Declare a daily delight. One of my favorite prompts from the new In Season planner is to “declare a daily delight.” Each morning (or evening), jot down one small joy you’re looking forward to or something that happened that you’re grateful for—maybe a walk or catching up with a friend.
Tracking gratitude shifts your attention toward what’s already good and primes your brain for noticing more abundance. Today, mine is a cozy cup of coffee while planning this newsletter. What’s yours?
2. Note the cyclic energy flow of abundance. At least once this week, give with intention, whether it’s time, energy, kindness, or money. Then pay attention to how abundance flows back your way—whether a compliment, a connection, or even an unexpected pocket of free time. Write it down. The more you notice, the more it happens.
3. Create spaciousness. Take a look at your calendar and block out a few minutes or even half an hour for yourself. No multitasking. No to-dos. Don’t use this time for scrolling. Use it to rest, dream, or simply breathe. Abundance isn’t always more—sometimes it’s “enough.”
“The apple tree doesn’t hoard its fruit; it gives fully, trusting that there will be another season.”

These fresh perspectives might just change how you view your paycheck—and your possibilities.
Good things take time—and the In Season planners are almost here!
Early beta testers have said, “It makes me feel like taking a deep breath and relaxing into planning,” and “It feels like a way of being.”
Think of it as your personal retreat—a guide to clear the noise and step into your next chapter with intention.
And the best part? They’ll be here in time to make holiday gifting feel extra special
