Everyday Magic: Following The Path Of Divine Breadcrumbs

November blog post featured image main following the path through the grass with purple flowers

For the past year, I’ve been seeing 555 everywhere: on clocks, receipts, license plates, and timestamps. I swear I have it screenshotted on my phone 1,000 times!

I began to wonder what numerology has to say about this ever-present number, so I looked it up.

555 is the number of change, movement, and transformation. Now, as a career change coach guiding my clients through seasons of transformation, 555 has become a comforting little sign to me.

It’s the universe saying, “Keep going. Trust this shift. You’re moving in the right direction.”

And I personally needed that reminder this year as I worked toward creating and investing in a physical product—something I had never done before and never even imagined myself doing!

But every time I questioned the process or wondered if I was totally out of my lane, there it was again: 555.

A wink. A nudge. A breadcrumb.

But the number 555 wasn’t the only one. So many synchronicities occurred during the creation and production of the In Season planner—more than I ever expected. It’s what I like to call “everyday magic,” and it’s there for you, too (when you know how to look for it!).

Let me explain.

The In Season planner was built with more divine breadcrumbs than I ever expected. Here are a few that still make me smile.

1. Little Women

When we redesigned the quotes on the pages, I wanted to ensure the inspiration felt aligned and safe from copyright concerns. What I thought would be a quick switch turned into a complete redesign of every single quote…but here’s the magic:

I found myself drawn to the words of Louisa May Alcott, the author of Little Women. As my dad and I were adjusting fonts and spacing, he casually said, “You know, my mom loved Little Women.”

A moment later, I opened Instagram, and, with zero connection or reason, a reel about the significance of your paternal grandmother and the gifts she passes down appeared (it was from an account I don’t follow and had never seen before).

Its message said this: Your paternal grandmother holds clues about what you’re here to create and how your soul expresses its gifts.

I got chills (and tears!). Here I was, creating something fun and meaningful…while unknowingly weaving in a story she loved. It felt as though my grandmother was saying, “I’m here. Keep going.”

2. Bees

From the very beginning of creating the In Season planner (over the last two years), I’ve kept noticing bees: live bees flying in my house/office, more live bees in my yard. Then I saw them on mugs, books, cards—all the places! I kept thinking, “What do these bees mean…?” Someone finally told me, “Bees are drawn to beauty (i.e., flowers).”

One of the guiding principles of this planner is that beautiful tools inspire beautiful work, and beauty invites us back to ourselves. I wanted to create a gorgeous planner that would invite us to return to ourselves and our heart-based aspirations so that we can move forward with intention.

 3. Bears

Then came the bears. The very first time I met the local Buffalo team who printed the planner, they walked me into a conference room called “Bear.”

Incidentally, Bear was the name of my first dog (my soul-dog). So when I noticed the Bear conference room, I asked about the name. The printer rep (Jessica) told me it was named after their grandfather, who was nicknamed Bear. I told her about my dog, Bear, and we talked about how we both love divine winks.

Fast-forward to the final stages of bringing the planner to life, that anxiety-fueled “is this really happening?” stage. While following a guided visualization, a bear appeared to me.  Immediately after that, on a Zoom call, a friend glanced out her window and said, “Look—a bear!” (It ended up just being a huge dog…but still. The timing!)

Then, right after that call, I walked downstairs, opened my mailbox, and found a postcard from a dear friend, Sarah (who helped with creating and supported the planner from the very beginning). On the front? A super cute brown bear.

Bears were appearing everywhere—one right after another after another. I felt like my Bear’s (the most special dog who passed years ago) presence was right there alongside me.

I decided to look up the symbolism of bears, and it couldn’t have been more apt. Bears teach you to go inward and awaken the potential that lives within you—and that’s what this planner process has been for me: a process of going in, listening, and then sharing.

(**Side note, the address of that local print company with the Bear conference room is 777—“a sign of spiritual awakening, good luck, and alignment, suggesting you are on the right path and that divine guidance is present.” Wow.)

These moments felt less like coincidences and more like confirmation that, while creating something I had no idea how to do, I was supported, aligned, and clearly not doing it alone.

The synchronicities of everyday magic require only one thing of you: Enough presence to notice their existence.

As I’ve mentioned, I see synchronicities as little winks from the universe that tell us, “Keep going.”

Signs, symbols, angel numbers, unexpected moments of alignment…all of them are more than coincidences. They’re tiny sparks of magic meant to remind us we’re not walking our path alone and that we are supported by something higher than us.

And the best part is they’re always around us. Yes, you, too!

If you haven’t noticed yours yet, let me encourage you: All that is required of you is to slow down and be present. When we create a little space in our day, magic always slips in to fill that space.

The more you listen, the more you notice. The more you notice, the more you trust.

Pronoia (the opposite of paranoia) is the feeling or belief that the universe is conspiring to do you good. It’s the belief that it’s all one big benevolent conspiracy, where things are always working out for you—and I just love that.

Of course, synchronicities don’t guarantee that everything will be easy, but they do affirm that you’re guided and aligned with something bigger. When you trust that the universe has your back, life begins to feel less like a grind and a lot more fun!

How To Increase Your Chances Of Everyday Magic: Declare A Daily Delight

One of the practices that’s been most impactful for me is declaring a daily delight. Daily delights are the simple pleasures we enjoy throughout our day, and noting them has literally changed my brain—shifting me out of the dread and into identifying everyday magic, even in hard seasons.

That’s why I even added a section to the In Season planner called “Declare a Daily Delight.” By noticing, naming, and appreciating one simple joy each day—which could be an awe-inspiring synchronicity or something as simple as “homemade pizza for dinner”—you change your outlook and increase your chances of experiencing everyday magic.

Pay attention to the details around you and begin declaring your daily delights by scheduling time to write them down. Your In Season planner is designed to help you do just that.

Flourish Careers Can Help

And then there are those moments you cannot make up…

On the day I officially named my business Flourish Careers and filed the LLC, I went to Barnes & Noble and, while checking out, saw a small, pretty green-and-pink floral tray with the word “”Flourish” in white block letters.

Needless to say, I bought it, and that tray still sits next to my desk, a reminder that the universe responds when you take aligned action. Are you ready to take aligned action toward changing your career? I’d love to help you through it.
