Embracing Progress Over Perfection:
We all know the feeling of striving for that elusive perfection, right? But here’s the thing—perfectionism is draining. It’s not about being perfect; it’s about making improvements, one step at a time. It’s ok to throttle back expectations and focus on progress over perfection.
Ditching the People-Pleasing Habit:
Have you ever found yourself bending over backward to please others? Guilty as charged, right? But here’s the scoop: being true to yourself is much more important than winning everyone’s approval. Shannon dropped some truth bombs, reminding us that it’s necessary to prioritize our own needs. She emphasized the importance of understanding the cost of over-committing and the value of having a plan B, which can provide a sense of security and authenticity.
Changing Your Perception:
Let’s discuss the weight we give to other people’s opinions. Spoiler alert: It’s time to care a little less about what others think. Shannon introduced my new fave acronym, CLWOT: Care Less What Others Think, and suggested we take a cue from Moira Rose from Schitt’s Creek—let go of that external pressure and be unapologetically ourselves. 🌟
