I don’t know how it is where you live, but the first day of spring around here looked, well…winterish.
As much as I crave the sun this time of year, I couldn’t help but admire the beauty of snow-kissed blossoms caught in seasonal transition. They reminded me—once again—that change is not a rip-the-bandaid-off-and-slap-a-new-one-on kind of deal.
Instead, change is a slow, gradual, we’ll-get-there-when-we-get-there path forward.
Sometimes, change looks like two steps forward and one step back. Sometimes, it looks like newly sprouted flower stems blanketed in spring snow.
And so it is in our lives and our careers.
Give yourself some grace. You’re taking steps forward, looking at new options with fresh eyes, and learning from your mistakes.
Change is hard, but you are a person who can do hard things. One day, you’ll look back and be amazed at just how far you’ve come because, all along, you were growing.
