Reflect + Renew: 10 Questions For Midyear Celebration

Between January’s ambitions and December’s reflection, here sits this quieter, underrated moment…a natural pause built right into the calendar. I love this about June.

How many of us blow past it year after year, swinging into summer with all its excitement, without using June to pause, look around, and notice how much we’ve done?

I say…this year, let’s do something different and celebrate!

Not just the big wins: the launches, the milestones, the things that have already made it onto a list somewhere. But the small, steady steps. The quiet growth. The work that maybe nobody else saw. The things you did even when you didn’t feel like it.

Because all those small, steady steps add up.

And it helps to see growth as it happens…to notice it, to list it, to build confidence through evidence.
Reflect + Renew, from the In Season planner, is more than a check-in. It’s a midyear ritual—something to sit with slowly, ideally somewhere that feels like a treat in itself, beside the ocean, in a coffee shop you’ve been meaning to try, beneath the blooming lilacs or cherry blossom trees.

Recently, a customer emailed me a photo of their heart art from this ritual and said, “It felt like a breath of fresh air.”

May the same hold true for you. Let’s begin.

1. Reflect – What have I achieved so far this year?

Start wide and resist the urge to filter. Even the tiny things count here — perhaps, especially the tiny things. A habit you kept, a hard conversation you had, a creative risk you took.

2. Reflect – What did I learn?

This can be a skill, a revelation, or something a difficult moment taught you about yourself. Growth isn’t always comfortable — but it’s always worth naming.

3. Reflect – What small step made a big difference?

Progress rarely arrives in dramatic leaps. Think back to one quiet decision, one small action, that opened a door you didn’t expect. Write about it.

4. Reflect – What am I proud of?

Not what impressed other people—what genuinely moved you. Maybe no one else even knows about it. Pride is personal, and this answer belongs entirely to you.

5. Reflect – How have I taken care of my body, mind, and spirit?

Rest, movement, nourishment, stillness, inspiration, passion—these aren’t separate from your work; they’re what sustain it. Where did you show up for yourself, even imperfectly?

6. Renew – Going forward, what do I want to achieve?

Let what you’ve already done inform what’s next. You now have evidence of what you’re capable of—let that shape what you reach for in the second half of the year.

7. Renew – Who do I want to collaborate with?

Is there someone whose work excites you, a community you want to be part of, or a partnership that’s been quietly on your mind? Name them—even if the reach feels stretchy.

8. Renew – What do I want to learn?

A skill, a subject, a craft, a practice. What’s been pulling at your curiosity that you haven’t yet given real time and attention to?

9. Renew – How will I nourish to flourish—body, mind, and spirit?

What does care look like for you in this next season? Think in small, sustainable commitments rather than sweeping overhauls.

10. Renew – How will I celebrate?

This is the biggie, even though the celebration doesn’t have to be big. But it also isn’t optional—it’s the whole point.

Pick something that feels like a genuine treat, however small: a walk around the lake, a bookstore browse, a solo coffee date with your favorite journal—and schedule it before you end this ritual and close your journal.

I am certain you have so much to celebrate!

If you enjoyed this ritual, I have good news.

At Flourish Careers, we believe rituals (like this one) are the heartbeat of growth. Rituals have the power to shift your daily actions from autopilot to mindful purpose.

By setting aside time to perform this midyear ritual, you likely found many things to celebrate—thus reducing anxiety, building self-trust, and anchoring you during transitions and seasons of life.

The In Season planner / journal from Flourish Careers was designed with this philosophy in mind. I made it for the version of myself who needed permission to slow down—and I made it for you. Visit the link to bring this ritual home with you.
